External Environment Analysis of Disneyland Park in Anaheim - Research Paper Example This outbreak started in December 2014 when 36 people including visitors and workers of Disneyland amusement park contracted measles (Leifer, 2015). In addition, further 90 people across seven states in the US and the neighboring country Mexico were reported infected from the outbreak. Though the measles outbreak in Disneyland had adverse effects on their visitors and employees, it only had a slight impact on the park’s attendance (Comb, 2015). The park lost revenues of unvaccinated visitors who were advised by health officials to avoid Disneyland. In addition, Comb says minors who could not be vaccinated were also locked out of Disneyland as a result of doctors’ recommendation. The park’s management incurred extra expenses by catering for the medical bills of their employees who were infected by measles. Even though, the measles had no adverse effects on Disneyland business, the park’s social image was tainted as a result of the outbreak. Currently, many visitors are medically advised before visiting the park something that portrays the park a dangerous place. Unlike Disneyland Park, Universal Studio Hollywood is a working movie studio. Levine (2014) states that the studio began in mid-1960s as modest backstage tour that offered tours to the public. The studio offers big thrills to the visitors by combining scary effects with high-speed coaster rides. These rides and amusement are based on some of the most famous scenes and characters from popular films and televisions. It also offers the celebration of special events such as treatment of intrepid visitors at the annual Halloween Night Horror and celebration of the Christmas holiday (Levine, 2014). Though the studio has over time grown into more of a theme park that offers roller coasters, it has managed to maintain its focus on movies and culture. The Airline Industry :: essays research papers

The topic in which I chose to do a scrapbook on was â€Å"How the government affects the airline industry in Canada†. Specifically I chose articles that related to the aftermaths of the September 11th tragedy. This event affected airlines in an enormous manner. Many airlines were facing economical problems and in turned asked the government for assistance. As a result, Canada 3000, which was Canada’s second largest airline carrier filed for bankruptcy protection on October 11th. Air Canada was also faced with many hard to make decisions. They turned to the Canadian government and asked for financial assistance. The Problem Solving Method will be examined to determine how the government came to the decision of actually granting Air Canada some assistance. Problem Solving Method 1. Decide on the "Issue" (Define it carefully to avoid arguments later.) The issue that is being discussed in whether or not the government should help Air Canada out financially. As can be seen in the articles presented in the scrapbook, it is known that the government controls many of the operations at Air Canada. 2. Examine various points of view and the opinions they have.  · Your own In my opinion, I think that the Canadian government should help Air Canada with financial assistance. I believe that if the government wants to have control over their fare prices, whether or not they can open a discount airline, and the amount of workers they are able to hire, that they have an obligation to the airline to help them out in these types of situations.  · Those of key groups or individuals (stakeholders) a) Air Canada Union Representatives – This group feels that the government should be active in financial aid relief. During the events after September 11th, the union stated in many national papers, that they felt that they deserved the same amount of support and relief that the US government was giving their airlines. b) The Canadian Government – The government had essentially three choices: i) They could help the airline. ii) They could do nothing and let the airline claim bankruptcy. iii) They could buy back into Air Canada. With the first choice, the government has to allocate some of their resources to the airline. The second option was not feasible for the government to partake in because of the fact that Canadian citizens would be loosing the biggest airline carrier. The third option, which the government did consider, involved two options. The government could either buy a minority of the shares or they could buy the entire operation and that would result in Air Canada becoming a crown corporation.

Nstp 1 Essay

Taking up NSTP 1 is fun and informative at the same time. I have learned many things from the beginning of the lecture about the bill of rights, up to the last meeting . Also I learned much about the environment and known whatever I learned there, will never be forgotten just that I should be able to apply the knowledge I have acquired. Before , I thought that disasterjust cause destruction to human lives and material but the truth is it also disrupts the function of society. I also found out that the reason why disaster occur is not onlybecause of the climate change or unbalanced ecosystem, but also because of the â€Å"low level of political and social organization â€Å" , which has been discussed by Mr. Abraham so I realized, in order to prevent disasters, we should be united, organized and start doing good things for the environment. Ihad a lots of fun listening to the lecture about drugs too, although I have completely made up my mind not to take any harmful dgurs, the informatio have lheard will be of great help. I will be more careful not to trust strangers,now that I know that there is ROHYPNOL, the ‘Date Rape Drug’ which cause amnesia, fatigue, dizziness to the victim. I really enjoyed the lessons about Disaster and Risk Management, I learned about how to be safe in times of disasters like earthquakes,tsunami and many more. In NSTP 1 , I have been taught to be responsible adult. The last lecture encourage memore participate since it is in factone of our basic human rights which we often neglect. I also made up my mind that I will be taking for NSTP II because I want to help children and share what I know without asking for anythingin return. By doing simple things, we can contribute to our nation’s development because remember that big things come from small things.

INTRODUCTION The increasing need for efficiency in a globalized economy has been challenging for workers in general. Demanding supervisors, tough tasks and some organizational rules are often seen as stressors by workers from different fields. Ethic organizations sought to improve the work quality which leads to performance in many ways. Lawson et al. (2016), studied the impact of workplace intervention on work-family conflict. These authors found a positive effect of workplace intervention on improving affective reactivity behavior to daily stressors. LePine, M. A., et al. (2015), suggests that charismatic leader behaviors considered challenge stressors as more challenging, and showed a tendency to react to it with superior performance. On the other hand, leader’s charismatic trait did not impact the way hindrance stressors were appraised. Stressors have been strongly associated with bullying at the workplace (Reknes, Einarsen, Knardahl, Lau, 2014). Although recent academic work has focu sed on negative stressors’ outcomes (Van Den Brande, Baillien, De Witte, Vander Elst, Godderis, 2016), there is evidence that both adverse and constructive aspects of stressors must be addressed (e.g., Boswell, Olson- Buchanan, LePine, 2004; Cavanaugh, Boswell, Roehling, Boudreau, 2000; LePine, Podsakoff, LePine, 2005).
